Atelier Code Noir is a creative space, event venue and culinary studio spanning 140 m² across two floors in Amsterdam’s hidden gem, the iconic 1930s Central Market Hall. Created to give diasporic chefs and artists a platform to showcase their cuisines and share the stories behind them, Atelier Code Noir serves as a third space for connection, creativity and representation.
We host pop-up dinners, photo and film productions, team-building events, presentations, brand activations, celebrations, exhibitions, and all kinds of creative collaborations.

Atelier Code Noir is a space created to uplift diasporic voices, with a special focus on Afro- and Caribbean perspectives. Food is used as a powerful tool for storytelling, bringing people together through experiences that explore identity, migration, memory and creativity.
The venue spans two levels and is designed for flow and atmosphere. Downstairs features an open kitchen with seating for up to 30 guests, ideal for chef’s tables, workshops, and intimate dining. Upstairs offers a raw, industrial presentation space that accommodates up to 50 seated or 100+ standing guests, perfect for brand events, launches, talks, and celebrations.
We are here to guide you shape your vision and make the most of the space, from food-focused experiences to creative projects beyond the kitchen.
Food is never an add-on. Our in-house catering is rooted in Caribbean and Afro-diasporic heritage, with menus crafted for each event to align food, space, and story into one cohesive, intentional, and unforgettable experience.

A versatile space
The beauty of Atelier Code Noir lies in its versatility. The ground floor functions as a full industrial kitchen, perfect for intimate dinners, large-scale catering, cooking workshops, or culinary content creation. But it's equally at home as a photo studio, film set, or gathering space for talks and celebrations.
Upstairs, the possibilities multiply. Host an art exhibition, set up a temporary studio, run a workshop, or transform it into whatever your project demands. The space bends to your needs, not the other way around.
